Laura Lyn McLeod - Miss Warner Robins 2008

Laura Lyn McLeod, Miss Warner Robins 2008, is an 18 year old sophomore student at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Public Relations. She graduated from Crisp County High School in 2007 as an honor graduate, Star Student, Estelle Roberts Scholarship recipient and Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient. Laura Lyn spent her senior year as an early enrollment freshman at UGA. She is a Hope Scholar and member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. On campus, she commits her time and talents to many organizations including Phi Mu sorority- external relations committee, Dance Marathon which benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta through Children's Miracle Network, and UGA HERO'S.

Laura Lyn spends much of her time giving back to the community. In addition to volunteering with Relay for Life, Special Olympics, and Children's Miracle Network, she is very devoted to her platform- "Minimizing Child Hunger through Backpack Buddies." Laura Lyn implemented Backpack Buddies two years ago in Cordele, and she looks forward to her year of service as Miss Warner Robins to promote knowledge and support of the Backpack Buddies Program.

Since she could walk, Laura Lyn has been performing and sharing her vocal talent at every opportunity possible. At the age of 3, she was singing in her church, and later enjoyed performing in church youth choir, Middle School production-"Annie", and High School production-"Grease". She still enjoys entertaining at festivals and community events.

Laura Lyn is the daughter of Bob and Lyn McLeod of Pineview, GA. She has a sister Anna Grace, 13, and a brother Robert, 20.
